One of our favorite designers to show our brides in studio is Maggie Sottero. Not only do they have beautiful designs for their wedding gowns, but they are also a very sustainable company overall and pride themselves on that. Maggie Sottero’s mission is to reduce their environmental impact and restore ecosystems. This is especially true in their native country of Australia and in Salt Lake City, which is where their home base is. Maggie Sottero's mission to create a more sustainable planet for us to live on is inspirational.
One of the main ways Maggie Sottero does this is by using lower impact materials. They have stunning styles with outer shells and inner linings made from recycled polyester and energy efficient fabrics. Recycling is a big aspect of Maggie Sottero’s efforts. They are committed to diverting stock from landfills to recycling programs and waste reduction, and having cleaner materials to work with helps so much. In partnership with Rocky Mountain Recycling, they can reduce waste reduction by 3000 pounds. They also will plant a tree for every dress sold. By partnering with One Tree Planted, Maggie Sottero has the ability to plant wildlife corridors in Costa Rica, conserve Koala habitats in Australia, support reforestation, aid in wildlife survival, and recovery of endangered tree and plant species.
