How to Budget for Your Wedding Dress Without Breaking the Bank

How to Budget for Your Wedding Dress Without Breaking the Bank

The wedding dress is often one of the most memorable—and expensive—purchases you’ll make for your wedding. It's the gown you'll walk down the aisle in, the one that makes you feel beautiful, confident, and ready to marry your person. But while you want your dress to be everything you've dreamed of, it’s easy to get swept up in the excitement and overspend.

Fortunately, with some smart planning and a little bit of strategy, you can find the perfect wedding dress that fits your style and your budget. We are a very budget conscious studio and would never want a bride to feel pressured to spend more than what they are comfortable with. Our stylists are here to help guide you through finding a gown within budget without going overboard.

Set a Realistic Budget Early On

The first step to budgeting for your wedding dress is to set a realistic price range early in your planning process. The wedding dress is an important part of your day, but it’s only one aspect of the whole event. Our gowns in studio start at around $2,200 and go up from there. Majority of the gowns we have in studio range from $2,500-$4,000. If you were looking to be a little more budget conscious, we do have a sample store that you can buy gowns as is off the rack at a reduced price. Located a few doors down from our main studio, I do… too is a great place to find gowns in the $1,000-$2,000 price range. We have you covered no matter what your budget is looking like!

Do Your Research

Once you have a general sense of your budget, start researching prices to see what’s out there in your price range. Wedding dresses come in a wide range of prices, so knowing what’s available in your budget can help you narrow your options.

  • Price Ranges by Brand: Wedding dresses can range in pricing based off designer. More well-known designers, such as Pronovias or Enzoani, will have a higher price point. We also carry some independent designers, such as Alan Hannah, that offer excellent quality at a more affordable price.
  • Look for Trunk Shows: We are always hosting trunk shows in our studio to showcase upcoming collections from designers. We also offer a 10% discount on gowns from that specific designer on the weekend of the trunk show, so its a great opportunity to snag a gorgeous dress at a reduced price. Check out our events page to see any upcoming trunk shows.

Stay True to Yourself (and Your Budget)

Remember that your wedding day is about you and your partner, not just the dress. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and pressures to have the most glamorous dress, but at the end of the day, what matters most is how you feel in it.

Whether you’re spending $500 or $5,000 on your dress, stay true to your budget and your personal style. There are beautiful dresses available at every price point, and with careful planning with I do… I do…, you’ll find one that feels like the one.
